Hi all. I had a pair of h7 globes I purchased 6months ago and found out yesterday that 1 has blown. So im not going to be buying them again.

So my question is, Narva Intense or Phillips diamond?
I need something bright as I live out in "the sticks" haha.

Id go HIDs but I honestly cant be bothered with them.
Cheers :)

I would be leaning towards the Philips Whitevision or X-treme vision range personally.

Once you go over 4300k the light is more of a blue tinge and you do loose road detail. Especially out in the "sticks"

+1

Though, I had the Phillips X-tremeVision's in my car and they didn't last much longer than 6 months either.

They were good while the lasted though.

You should consider upgrading your high beams as well.

I've got Philips DiamondVision 5000K low beams, Philips X-tremeVision high beams, Philips Ultinon LED parker lights and Philips DiamondVision 5000K fog lights. I have had most for over six months now and only one fog light (which was my most recent replacements) carked it. It ended up being a fault with the globe and was replaced.

Here are my parkers.

And an old pic of my low beams with the regular parker lights.

Thanks Gary!! They look great. One of my LEDs blew too. I think phillips will be the way to go till I can be bothered with HIDs!!

I've been using them for years and have never had an issue apart from the one I mentioned. Definitely a good product. It's just a matter of choosing what sort of light you want.

How far do you think you can see with just the lows? Only asking as I could see 4 lane markers infront before it started to fade quickly.

Oh crap, I really don't know how to explain it. Next time I'm on a highway or main road with low light I can tell you?

Just go hids. The light is so much better and you won't have to change globes for years.

I also asked my neighbour about lights as he is a lighting guru (and talks lumens n stuff I have zero knowledge about haha) and talked me into getting some low beam hids (can also fit them for me) but keeping with halogen fogs and led parkers :)

Just to throw a spanner in the works.....

I have factory HID's and I can't say I'm a fan, while they are very bright, they don't seem to have good penetration. My old banger Commodore with some +50% globes would out headlight the RB.

Maybe it's a Subaru thing, as the wife's RX (halogen globes) is not much chop either.

Whichever way you go, I suggest staying away from anything blueish.

As you move toward the ultraviolet end of the light spectrum, the greater the light scatters. I guess the opposite could be said of infra red, which is what is used for night vision.

Switched from Phillip's Diamond Vision to Narva. Much better. Phillips are good for the white light street bling but Narva much nicer light. Bought them from Car Bulbs Direct.

I can source the Narva for a decent price (compared to the autostores). when I get the hids, I'll have a look at them, see the quality etc and go from there.

Thanks all for your input :) much appreciated!!

Just keep in mind that retro fitted HID's without headlight sprayers will get you a defect notice if a cop sees them.

This is also sort of related but here are my factory HID's. Top is 4300K and bottom is 6000k. This is what I mean't when I was talking about looking road details with "brighter" globes

^^^ this is what I meant!

You see less with the 'blue' type globes.

Just keep in mind that retro fitted HID's without headlight sprayers will get you a defect notice if a cop sees them.

They also require a self leveling system.

5000k is the best of all worlds. I have 5000K HID's and it's perfect.

Your car has projectors. Fit aftermarket 5000k 35w HID's and be done with it, They work SO well in Gen4's.
