Check your car actually has a sway bar before buying that. I'm pretty sure the NA wagons didn't come with one.

If those are steel wheels with hubcaps you could pick up a set of Subaru rims, 16"or 17" for under $500. There's always some for sale in the for sale thread, and some people just have their Subaru wheels sitting in their garage if you put up a WTB Thread.

Will depend on your budget and future plans. If you want some wider wheels at some point in the future id save for coilovers otherwise some low king springs would be ok. Dont get anything lower than "low" or the stock struts will shit themselves and so will your spine

Yep, TEIN springs are approx. $850 And coilovers are $1200 so worth saving up that little bit more.

Id save for coils. Messing around with shocks and springs are a pain IMO

Yep, nailed it on the head Tom. Springs can be good on good stock shocks, but won't beat coilovers. Like the prices I stated, TEIN are one of your better brands and will retails for $800/set, where as you can get BC Racing Adjustable Coilovers (which seem to be in half the cars on this forum) for circa $1200-1300. Or even less used, but at that price new is best.

Yep +1 to BCs. Great coils for the price plus quicking shipping and can get replacement parts easy through the guys at Ichiban.

Ichiban is the hook up for Subyclub, plenty of parts new and used (JDM mostly). They are located in suburban Sydney but can freight down your way. Import Monster is a specialist importer of JDM motor parts and are located in Melbs if I'm not mistaken. A bit of searching on here will help you work out how to use them for parts etc. But for new BC Racing Coilovers Ichiban seem to be the guys. You can find their thread under For Sale Vendors, they have a Coilover thread, just hit Ben up with freight to Melb, he has prices listed there for each coilover setup.

Defs go to Ichiban for the coils. We get a discount if you buy through subyclub ;) as Niko said were lucky enough to have Import Monster here in Melbourne which is a good source for cool and weird jdm bits.

Quick question, if you fit coil over suspension does it make the ride uncomfortably hard, or more compliant but stable? I'm looking for an improvement in handling, but I don't want to feel every bump around town. I do a lot of highway driving.

Yes and No, depends on the brand, plus the springrate, dampening etc. Your car should be able to fit most WRX parts, but also you may find the OEM STi suspension is a bit of an upgrade. Springs are also an affordable upgrade (under $300 usually plus labour).

Other suspension upgrades are swaybars, such as Whiteline. You might find that helps.
