Hi guys,

Bought this 1997 Liberty RX in September after I sold my 1994 GX liberty, I felt I needed the upgrade. The OEM springs and shocks felt so much better than the GX and the 2.5 felt alot smoother. I bought the car at the start of holidays and went about all the usual p plater things; plastidip rims, remove spoiler, stickerbomb fuel cap, tint windows, plastidip grille, white bulbs and LEDs. All was sweet for two weeks then after a trip to Newcastle from Coffs Harbour to get a set of rims the car did a head gasket. Was stuck in Kempsey for about three hours while dad brought a trailer and picked me up. So cars out of action for a while.

Would like some suggestions for a budget and nothing to out there as its only an n/a!

Cheers, Ace

Once you get it fixed I'd suggest getting some jdm projector headlights. 100x better lighting and look a lot tougher. Maybe a rear swaybar after that.

Also welcome :)

Thanks, seen alot of them around. They look really good. Are they plug and play or do they require some wiring do you know?

They require some small mods, easy as pie. Grab a rear swaybar and some decent tyres.

What would be the best way to lower the car short of coilovers?

best way is Coilovers but a cheaper ioption is Gd STi struts and springs or just put some lowered springs on the stock struts

King springs can get from eBay as for GD STi gear theres no proper place to get it from. Robert who posted about fat chicks reccently upgraded to coilovers from GD gear so maybe send him a PM

Sti pinks and inverted sti struts was an awesome combo

I needed a 3/4 spacer in the rear to get it to sit level

I'll find a pic
