Okay,

What's the go. Looks like I don't have a V3 Sti plug on my car, so I'm more than likely going to have to cut and crimp.

Is it worth going the genuine V3 sensor and crimping onto the existing plug? I've always had an O2 sensor code even when it was working, maybe a genuine will fix that?

Or am I just going to spend more money for nothing?

Any tips?

Hi,

If you go genuine the extra money will go to peace of mind so you don't have to keep accepting the code.

I see no reason a sensor would be different as OEM, but at least you'll know.

Cheers,

Nik

If it's a four wire sensor I have the one we tried in my brothers car sitting here if you want to try it? Can have it for nothing. May work on an older ecu.

Thanks Adrian, but she's a 3 wire :( oh well. I'm getting a quote for genuine, and then I'm going to cut both plugs off and crimp new deutsch plugs on.

If there is no other option than to crimp, do it as far away from the sensor as possible.

Most Zirconia sensors 'breathe' atmospheric oxygen through the wires.

I will be chopping the plug off right at the plug and crimping a new deutsch plug on. Male and female.

Seem like an okay move?

If you can get hold of an old sensor you can carefully remove the plug and repin it to a new sensor if you are keen. That way you can do some testing without butchering existing wiring.

I think i have a 3 wire that did 15km on my rs....one from bursons as an oem replacement. ....its been soldered up to a newish plug and ran the rs fine as far as i could tell?

If its any use and i can find it then its yours?
I can just send it for you to try....if it works than keep it...if not send it back?

What is the part number of the original v3 sti ? An OEM denso is front o2 is usually only 70-120 bucks. Just get the Original one
