The electric window motor died in my drivers door a little while ago. There aren't many guides online how to fix it so we decided to make one... In video format!

Agreed. My foz one was completely seized (water somehow??) and swapped it out just after I bought it.

Good DIY, but using voltage to check the circuit is not as good as checking current.

 

You can also drive the motor from the plug with an external power source to eliminate all the supply and control circuits.

 

 

Are the regulators on Subaru's bolted in, or use rivets that need to be drilled out?

Here's another tip - on Forester models at least, the diagonally opposite motors are identical (i.e. rear passenger side motor is the same as a front drivers side one).

Never had to change one yet in 5 Subaru's owned. Maybe a later model thing when quality isnt as good as earlier models........?

It's not the quality of the motor, it's the master switch which is known to get sticky and actually stays open/closed which then wears out the motor... Same problem in the GD
