Hey all,

I have an 04 wrx and i'm very interested in doing the swap one day to the 05 interior, mainly for the cup holders haha.

I have read a few guides now and it appears in one of them that I needed to shorten the handbrake cable?

The other mention was that the 05 handbrake only attaches with 2 bolts instead of 3?

Just from personal experience (I trust people on subyclub as you've all been so nice to me :)) was the overall converison quite easy and "to OEM spec" in terms of not having to cut and modify to make things function?

Thanks again :)

I just fitted the console. Didn't do any hand brake cable shortening etc.

Oh thats unreal thanks for that. Did you have to replace the handbrake or anything similar?

Would the non turbo impreza 05 model also have the same components required? (generally easier to find)

Thanks again :)

Nope used my 03 STI stock hand brake. I use an 07 STI centre console for the swap. Have a look in my build thread you will see the last post of my interior which is now all 07 STI with a 06 XT Forester 6 stacker CD player.

I got everything to do the swap from Kris at Rising Sun Subaru.

Thanks in advance, I couldn't fit my 04 wrx hand brake, the trim that goes over the handbrake wouldn't fit otherwise.

I am really interested to see if anyone else had the same issue as me?

That's odd. Maybe only the sit is a straight swap. Got a pic of it not fitting?

Great question, I didn't grab a pic unfortunately.

My only problem at the moment (you would have experienced it) is what to do with the power mirrors switch? Curious what you did (couldn't see it in the pic unfortunately)

I cut out the coin slot things and fitted it there.
