Just a little surface cancer, OMR. Not bad by any means.
Cam, this is the car that owned the bog bonnet I showed you.
It's responsible for the great bog shortage of 2013

Gotta respect you for taking on the challenge. Keen to see how this one scrubs up.

Big day yesterday. I was at it from 8am - 5pm solid. It's probably easiest to list the things done.
2 can UEC
Engine oil droped
Engine flushed with fresh Delvac then dropped again.
All vac lines replaced with silicone and plumbed to Subaru specs.... bar the line 10 mod.
All fluids checked
Spark plugs checked
ECV replaced and new one adjusted
Intercooler replaced with Whitekong's
New silicone intercooler coupling
Battery removed, area cleaned, OEM tie down added.
Dodgy pod & maf tube removed
Standard airbox and Maf added
Engine cover added
Engine & bay degreased
High pressure rinse
Head lights changed
+50 Arctic Narva bulbs & Phillips T10 parkers
Passenger blinker bulb socket removed & replaced to Rev D
Inspected brakes... All good & new.
Inspected CV's... 2 need replacing so I'll do the lot.
Inspected wheel bearings....All good.
Tyres... new.
Exhaust.... as new.
Inspected crash damage.... not bad at all, very happy, easy fix
Underneath the poo there's a clean engine.
The dodgy work is quickly being rectified and There's not much bodge left. Some things I found yesterday were.... the boot garnish is siliconed to the boot and someone had retrofitted a rev A blinker bulb and siliconed it in place. I'm not messing around with this rebuild, I cut the wires and threw that headlight in the bin.
I have my work cut out for me with the paint on this car. The doors are fine, although I may replace one to get rid of a small dent & some ripples.
I'll be putting on Whitekong's front guards. The bonnet & boot are already on.
Once all the plastidip is removed I'll get on to clay barring & polishing. The top half of the car was plasti dipped at some point.
forking plastidip! The shit is everywhere and it's not coming off the way it's supposed to!
At the moment I'm focussed on getting this thing running properly so the engine looks a bit like a Captain America party as I've used what I had lying around.
Down the track i'll get a matching colour scheme going and do my thing with the engine bay.
Rear end looks awesome and I haven't even washed it yet.
Not sure which way to go today. I suppose i'll just get out there and see what I get into

What are your long term plans with this, O Kong of the TT?

Not sure mate. I can't make my mind up.
My lastest forked up idea is to get both Hobo & Bluey up to a mad standard... sell them both.... then buy Nicknack's black B4 or one like it.
I want a bleck one

I wish I had your motivation. Yesterday I changed over a headlight globe. I felt that was enough.
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"
Posted 18 May 2015 - 10:39 AM
I'll be changing the interior to Whitekong's.
So that means, out with the B4 blue/black seats & trim, in with black leather heritage door cards & rear seat.
My black leather STi Recaro replicas are sitting there doing nothing, so I may as well use them too.
The dash has a tear, Whitekong's dash is mint.
Trim plugs, door seals, ashtray and much more are missing but not for long.
Hood lining & visors are very good.
Window tint is like new... bit light though.
Carpet is pretty good and will come up great with a shampoo.
Floor mats ... binned.
A pillar cover has a boost gauge mounted on it so ... binned.
I'll give it a Cruisin style clean up whilst the carpet is out.
I wonder what goodies lie beneath?

This is MAD, I love doing this kinda stuff. Though I no longer have the space to do it with cars I have started fixing up broken phones and computers ect and selling them on.
At least now it will be a fully legal B4 and should turn a profit for you.
How did that gearbox go for you?

Brave man! I would have ran away very quickly!!

Looking good Kong. Reminds me of some of the shit i found cleaning up the RX. Some people should not be allowed cars. Also for the plasti dip overspray turps, a rag and some elbow grease works a treat
