Ahh. You do so well!
It looks so good from what it was.
I have a set of RS30 door cards if your keen. You might be able to work your magic on them to get them to your standard.

How did that gearbox go for you?

It's sitting in the garage lol.  I'll get around to it one day soon.

In my experience, a shitter is always a shitter, no matter how good it looks.

Indeed.

This one is far from being a shitter though Jase. It just needs parts & love.  And a complete unfuctinectomy.

Looking good Kong. Reminds me of some of the shit i found cleaning up the RX. Some people should not be allowed cars. Also for the plasti dip overspray turps, a rag and some elbow grease works a treat

Nice.  Thanks mate.

Not much achieved today.  Spent over an hour waiting at the RMS to transfer the rego and then went to get some 51e paint made up for the front bumper.
Rain again slowed the progress but I managed to pull the front guards off along with the bumper bar.  Guards are binned.

Whilst pondering and having a beer, I had a look at the accident damage, looking & thinking how I should go about fixing it and...
I basically grabbed it, with my kong mitts, and pulled it back to 90%.
I then went for the tools & a jack & got stuck into it and pretty much fixed 97.5% of the damage. Just a good clean up and spray to finish Tomorrow. The damage wasn't really that bad after all.

It's the D/S light & rad support area....

Black cars suck.

Wot?

The level of suck is directly proportional to the level of OCD. :P

I hope you are right. Often it's a fine line as to how much fcked has been committed vs time/dollars to un-fcked it. If that thing had been just plain old ignored by previous owners, rather than modified and abused, I'd be a little more comfortable with it.

Don't get me wrong, I have 110% faith in your ability to knock this into shape, it's just that I have seem so many get burnt trying.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I know what you mean mate and it's all good.

I honestly feel I couldn't be in a better position to do this.

I'm openly very confident this will work out without too much drama, especially with the spares of everything I have...and they are all in good nick too.

To attempt something like this without a donor car would be mental.

That's the thing.  I have all I need to make this car good again.

I've stripped away the bullshit, improvisation & non OEM parts and I'm adding the panels & parts it needs to be...... well.... normal and good again.

The exhaust system alone tells me, someone once spent big bucks on this bad boy.  I have never seen dumps like it on a TT before, tuned length.

The biggest saving grace and the major decision in buying this B4 is,  this thing wouldn't have seen serious boost for god knows how long!

HVC meant the car was left untouched last week, the weather since hasn't  been playing ball either.

Yesterday was a nice day so I got stuck into it.  The interior was stripped, carpet binned, doors removed, & the interior was given a good clean.

It wasn't too dirty under the carpet to my surprise.

The usual bounty was found under the carpet.  Almost enough to buy 6 beers, of some cheap arse description, or a cask of Fruity lexia  :drinks:

DSC_0472_zps9xfnl0yq.jpg

The Blue/Black leather slowly disappeared and Heritage black leather started making it's way on board.

Some non OEM attachments.... well done!!!!     dickhead

THAT'S NOT HOW THE DOOR TRIM GOES ON, YA FUCKEN IDIOT!

DSC_0465_zpsnpjorigv.jpg

The reasons why became obvious quickly enough. The one screw you need to remove the door trim wasn't removed at some point.

COULD'VE USED THOSE DOOR SKIN SCREWS TO SECURE THE SPEAKER AY, DICKHEAD!

More forking screws......

Geesh!

It's disgraceful!

I try hard not to get pissed off about it TBH.

I just end up having to stop my mind from trying to understand why people would do things like that. I start thinking..."How much of a tard was the person who did this!"

Why?  I don't get it but I'd like to understand why.....  Right in the middle of the forking door skin!!!

Hell, buy black screws if you are going to do shit like that and at least try to put them in equal distance apart, in a straight line too FFS!

I'm throwing lot's of things on the shit pile as a result of people improvising.

It's confusing at times when you are working on 2 virtually identical car shells.  Swapping panels & doors etc... your reference points change with the parts, if you know what I mean.

She is changing every time I work on her.  The paint condition is pleasing and all parts going into the reassembly are in VGC, which makes me more excited about the car every day.  The good bits I've donated to Bluekong are better served here.  I think I may step this build up a notch  :D

Or 3  ;)
