Nice score on the seats. STi fever. ;)

Haha yep, haven't been able to really drive in them yet as the front is basically stuck all the way forward but should have it sorted tomorrow.

There is less bottom bolstering but I don't think it'll bother me if I really hate it I can also go back to the old seats.

Are they out of MY07 or later STi?

IIRC the seat bolstering changed from MY07 across the range, apparently to accommodate the US market as they are a population of barge arses. A few people have gone the other way, and fitted pre MY07 seats to post MY07 cars to increase lateral support when belting around corners.

Yes the seats switched over for the face lift cars. The preface lift tbSTI had the bottom bolsterting like my seats but with alcentra / leather. I wanted all leather. At the end of the day these certinaly aren't permanent.

Update time.

The seats are in and I'm so happy with how they feel. Mainly because they came from a significantly lower KM car so overall they are in better condition. Loving the red stitch.

Wiring up the seats was easier then I thought. I was worried because the FL seat has memory control and I wasn't sure if that was going to be a big job to get working, I wasn't bothered if it wasn't going to be able because at the end of the day I wasn't loosing anything.

I decided the best way to try and adapt them was rather then cutting wires I'll pull the wires out of the connectors and see if they could be adapted first.

Original pFL connector, 2 wire.

New FL connector, 4 wire.

IMG_2550.jpg

Wires out.

IMG_2552.jpg

I pushed the thick red and black wire into the original connector and to my surprise it all worked. What ever the smaller two wires were it didn't need them, both the electric motor and memory works flawlessly.

Next up, the new wheels.

Nigel has had these for sale for some time now so I've been eyeing them for awhile. Tax time arrived so it was time for some car goodies.

They are Enkei RS05 18x7.5+50

It's a nice change to have centre caps.

1_DX26739.jpg

1_DX26740.jpg

They need a good clean and I'll likely get the restored. They came with 235/45 tyres which have plenty of tread but are VERY interesting in the wet. My 225/40's will go back on the tyres at some point next week.

Yeap in all departments. Your car is looking cleaner and cleaner mate. Centre caps makes a big difference in my opinion. :P

What ever the smaller two wires were it didn't need them, both the electric motor and memory works flawlessly.

One goes to IGN fuse, the other to selector lever (AT) or handbrake (MT) switch. Prevents seat memory function when handbrake is released/in gear with the IGN on.

Makes perfect sense as it can be done at anytime. Cheers!

Great thread man, car looks awesome now, reading this thread is making me regret selling it.

As for my old handiwork -  I did a lot of learning how to do stuff on this car, the fact that some of it works at all was a win for me at the time!

How many ks has it got now? Still holding up strong?

All good Tom, the handiwork doesn't bother me as things can be replaced and it's a chance for me to learn to so no biggi

The car is great man, it's got the usual high k stuff being worn but it's all slowly being sorted. Cars got just under 341,000 and still driving strong. My mates that know I don't baby the thing I bought it to have fun and fun I have. Unfortunately the last few months the car has been only getting driven a couple of times a week as I work in the city now and catch the bus and train, plus any run a bout needs I've got the Cuore as it's just easier.
