Ive finished my new grille today.
Started over a week ago but havent had the time to get to it so have been driving around grille'less ever since.

The glue finished drying last night so now the mesh is stuck on good!
And the finished result doesnt look too bad! im pretty happy with it.

Now comes the decision of how to badge it...
I took off my original oval subaru badge after chopping the grille up and painted it green (to match the car) so that might look cool. and i picked up a 'liberty' badge off a gen2 series1 from the wreckers a little while ago, but im thinking if i use the word badge, i might try and get a gen4 one as it is much more slimline than the earlier ones:)

Here some pics, let me know what you think
(ps the candidates are bluetacked in the pics and arent permanent!!)

with just mesh

with just 'liberty'

with just colour coded oval badge

with both together (possibly too cluttered but might be ok??)

I'd of just assumed a gold badge is better. But having seen the photos, I think the chrome one looks good because it matches the chrome outline of the grill. And I'd chuck the green Suby badge in there as well. I don't think it looks too cluttered.

The green badge for me, although is it just the pic or does the green in the badge differ from the car color? Two badges does IMO look too cluttered.

Looks like the one I did. :D

yea mark i got the idea from you! Thanks btw! haha it is a lighter green. i just got some dk green spray paint from bunnings. im not fussed that its not an identical match. it does make it stand out more:) looks like im leaning towards just the green badge. i would liek to see what it looks like with the gen4 'liberty' badge next to it though...

wasnt too bad! the offcut mick gave me from his grille was pretty easy to work with - already a good size, just needed trimming. maybe its being left-handed, but i always fail with saws so i got dad to give me a hand. plus if it stuffed up i could blame him! haha but we pretty much cut it down to a perfect fit and used aryldite to secure it down.

Liberty badge all the way. It's a lot cleaner and stealth. The badge doesn't seem to fit in with a mesh grille to me.

if you can get that green to match the car (should be able to get a small pot of paint mixed) then it'd look awesome, but without the colour matching, i'd prefer just the liberty badge...

Im liking jus tthe liberty badge. Id also be keen to see it with a Gen 4 badge.

yea i quickly took some snaps with the bluetack, ill def move it more to the side when/if i stick it on. insanely double sided sticky tape sounds good. ive been contemplating how to attach it. would the tape still work for the oval badge as it is rounded on the inside? i might wait until i get a gen4 'liberty' before i stick it on. but i think in the end i will!

Yeah if the Subaru badge is domed it might make it more difficult??? might be able to just layer it up a bit??
