For those thinking of splicing their own harness, I found this while googling :)

Now I'm not saying everyone should DIY it and not go to Al and Miles at AM Auto, but the info is there if you want it. I'm still tossing up whether to DIY it or send it to AM auto.\

From what I understand, it's basically crimping wires together that correspond with what they do (e.g. find the A/C switch on your car, then crimp it onto the A/C wire on the WRX ECU)

 

Like what Ben at Ichiban said to Marty: It's not like 5 wires, dude

I'm just starting this atm on mine. Starting with merging the rear harness as it contains the least bits. I've got plenty of electronics experience, but the shear qty of wires is daunting.

This is how I converted a RevB '94 EJ20H TT equipped car to run the engine and factory ECU for a RevD '97 EJ20R (or V3 STi)

You go cross-eyed for 3 days, then it all just works.
