Just a quick question fellas, there's a sensor just behind my turbo that plumbs into the exhaust, is this an oxygen sensor? I believe this model only has the one sensor....

Disconnected that sensor and surging seems to have stopped...we connected it back up and back to surging. Will double check in the morning just to be sure

with the car at warm idle
put your multimeter between earth and the signal wire,
you should see the voltage swing from 0.1v to 0.9v and bsck again over a couple of seconds

if it's slow or doesn't swing, sensor is toast or you have an air-leak upstream of the o2 sensor

As above
when you probe them relative to ground you'll see 12v, 0v and the signal.
there's no doubt a complete service manual round here with wiring diagram to show colours and connectors.

I did query my auto sparky, he said putting a scanner tool on it is the most accurate way to test it....personally I don't know how it works 😖
Subaru want $485 for the part! Holy smokes! I can get it from UAE for about $218 delivered. Part number from Subaru was 22690AA321

Putting a scanner on it is also a great way for your auto-sparky to make money.

the 100% foolproof way of testing it is with a multimeter as I posted.
you can do it at the ECU pins also, that tests the wiring is good aswell.

As previously mentioned, get a Bosch one
from www.efi.com.au, about $130
Bosch Part# 2269013255

Done
