Alright cubts, Ive gotten myself into a pattern of having something new for MexiTracker every year. What do you cubts want to see? The live tracker from last year will be returning, should I be changing anything?

Thinking of making a snapchat account and having a story so you can see some videos of what we're getting up to. Some rolling shots and bants from meal breaks etc. Could even start a twitch stream. That would only be when stopped as it would chew data

Cheers cubts

Could there be someway to incorporate a 'secret knock' into something?

Maybe some sort of tracker that tracks your car?

That way you can see where it is when it gets stolen on the way up

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Take the photos via your app;

slurp photo metadata including geolocation;

post to instagram;

store data: (amazon web services is $0.000003 for something like this)

  instagram ID,

  geolocation,

  user,

  timestamp

Mexitracker main screen = google maps with planned route and all uploaded photos as pins, preferably with click = photo thumbnail

Is it done yet?

How about now?

I've done what I described above in javascript & ruby, but I assume you're in Java because android or Swift/ObjC for iFone?

Not quite done yet haha. A web based solution is preferable as that way it works for everyone. That all sounds like a mad idea but to do live tracking with google maps looks like a bunch of work. Whereas with glympse you just sign in and it works

Oh yeah I wasn't suggesting any real-time component! I do real time stuff in my day job, it's totally not worth the trouble for something fun like this. I simply meant that you could have a home page showing the existing pics pinned to the locations they were taken.

If you get stuck with any JS stuff as the deadline approaches feel free to hit me up via private message, I can JS plenty good.

Ummm, the photo location thing is a simple option with google photos... its all already built in if we make the album public that we post to.

as long as the geo info is turned on with your camera.. It's pretty close to where it should be for the most part..
embed the map to a page (i can talk to Dyran about getting a our own URL off Subyclub for the event.. subyclub.com/mexitracker ?

I like the snapchat idea... realistically its only for a few people that sit at work on the eve of HVC bored as fork that want to just have a laugh at our antics

and there is only so much Sandstorm normal folk can handle.. we are not included.. we are super.. we ARE... "THE SANDSTORM"
