Hey guys,

Having troubles deciding on a which motorbike to get, wouldn't be an issue if it didn't have to be learner legal. Would jump straight onto a gsxr.

So i'm tossing up between the new Kawasaki Ninja 250r and an Aprilia RS 125.

Both bikes look equally as good as each other. Go about the same and sound shocking.

Aprilia is lighter, better quality, handles better and 125cc 2 stroke! phwoarrr

Ninja bout 25kg heavier, shitty tyres on it, not italian, 250cc carby 4 cylinder. about $2grand cheaper.

So i'll let the pictures do the talking

Go the Kawa mate... If it's just an interim bike while you're on your L's or P's or what ever, just go the cheaper one so that you've got a little more money to inject into the savings account for when you want to upgrade!

Money is not really an issue, even if I get the Aprilia i'll be more than 3 times better off than I am currently. Also won't have any car expenses as of around the end of the year. So the bike will become a weekend thing. Which is where the Aprilia will shine. The whole 2 stroke thing is what is holding me back. I'll just get a turbo hayabusa and be done with it.

At least the Duke goes around corners. All the "busa will do is kill you quickly. They don't have a speedo. Its a stop watch.

Ducati's are nice, probably jump onto one of them when I get my fulls. A guy I know has about 6 bikes currently, owned probably over 40 bikes in his lifetime. Said he's owned them all, and nothing compares to the dukes. Bought himself a 999r some time last year and had to get himself a 1098s when they came out! Crazy. I don't mind the Triumphs either RS 250 Isn't learner legal unfortunately. If I wanted something with a bit of go it'd be the hyosung gt650r, de-restricted will make 80hp.

I've heard mixed reviews about the Hyosung's. Apparently their frame and handling abilities aren't what they could/should be. The engines are Suzuki's tho.

I've heard a lot of bad things about the Hyosungs... hence staying away from them. Poor quality, handling is rubbish, reliability. BikeBiz in parramatta love the things, if you have you're eyes set on something other than a Hyosung they'll try their best to sway your decision.

I might be on crack, but I thought a power to weight ratio rule was implemented for bikes.. EG relative to the weight of the rider plus weight of bike vs engine output?? Anyone else heard of this or was it just a proposal?

Postie bikes are awesome! I want one for the beach house!

You can get them from the auctions down here in Melbourne.. I'll have a snoop around for you if you want.
