Pre Apr'00 5MT transfer bearing reference

So,

5MT transmissions have 4 bearings holding the diff, drive and driven gear.

Prior to Apr'00, they are all open plain roller bearings. Post-Apr'00, the rear drive bearing is a tapered roller with a retaining plate on the transfer extension housing - I don't have info on that.

Rather than getting gouged by your local dealership, here are the bearing specs, so you can pick them up from your local bearing supplier (well, as least 3/4 of them. The drive bearing looks like a subaru special made by nachi).

 

All can be removed and installed with hand tools (bearing splitter, hub puller or a tyre lever worked for me for removal. Install with a soft drift and hammer on the inside race, or do the shaft in the freezer, bearing in the oven trick). No need for a press.
