RS with a V8 sounds more like soop or brenda atleast that would probably pass emissions

hahah I was gonna do the exact same conversion.. had the engine and all, but sold the car.. and engine... so someone else did it!, I had a 1.3L AE82 toilet blue corolla with a 4 speed.. specifically got the 4 speed for the conversion.. off a Granny with 48k on the clock and garaged since new! and for $1300.00! The engine swap is easy.. they directly bolt in from memory, and all fits perfect in the bay.. and no ECU issues as the original engine was carby, so the guy just connected it all up direct and made his own loom holes into the car for it. I woke up one day.... snapped it.. bought the V8 and sold the corolla

Should hang around down there and go to the RSL meet.

Meh, knowing that stretch of highway, a well alignment PRIOR to travelling it would be redundant.

how necessary is a heatshield for the up-pipe for my exhaust, one of the tack welds for the heatshield has bummed in the poo poo and colin at frenchies suggested just to remove to thing, i was assuming it kept the engine bay temp down a bit from the intrawebz scouring ive done. Had a tiny bit of a rattle at 2,800 - 3000 rpm from it.

Just arrived in coffs harbour, Im in love...... its such a torque monster.... any slight depression of the pedal just results in my skinny arse being hauled into overdrive!!!! Fuel consumption was actually pretty good, havent worked it out yet but drove from brisbane cbd to coffs cbd, consumed 3/4 of a tank. and thats with a lot of random moments of enjoying spurts of hearing that turbo rooooooooaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr! oohhh nom nom nom nom nom nom.

Also, that heatshield. is goooonnne. frenchies heat wrapped it. mmmm smelt soooo good for the first 10 kms... i thought the engine bay was going to catch fire from the amount of stank it made.. or at least there was a dead body jammed in there somewhere.

The blow off valve frankie. plumb back or whatever it is, its louder now!!! i can hear.. rrrrrrrrrwaaaaaaapssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. now, must be the lack of heat sheilding.

Airbag module is in also, just gotta get CnJ mechanics work on it, im assuming to let the Autronic talk to it? the light on the instrument panel is still on.
Bad news about the edfc, ive wound the stiffness too hard, and its actually seized in place there. so, might be a fulcrum job for that. (all on four teins) also, really weird thing, I forgot his name, wasnt colin. the tallish lad, said the edfc servo device that sits ontop of the struts could not of ever possible ever came with these teins or ever be used on them due to a different size thread. the rears are supposedly 10mm which can fit with the servo motor device. but the fronts are a different size and said they would not fit.

I did mention to him... that we pulled them off the car, and saw them on there. working.. but he didnt believe me? haha

also, steering rack wasnt leaking. yay! just was a perished hose somewhere.

Question for the masses, is there anything special i need to know about heat wrapping. I know its useless in certain applications from what ive gathered. i.e H6 conversions. hai tristan

But was it the right way to go for my setup? do i need to look after it in a special way, i.e make sure it doesnt get gunk and crap on it from daily driving on dirt roads for the next couple of weeks.

Thats all folks.
