its just a "chip" for the car, not a replacement ecu, the car will still retain the factory ecu and use it for most things but the buddy club unit will bypass the ecu for such things like redline, timming, boost etc.
Should be good, but be aware that its created for jdm models running on jdm fuel
Incorrect.
1) That is a replacement ECU. Not a "piggyback". This will not retain the factory ECU. This is a replacement ECU.
2) JDM Fuel is 100RON. Australia's got 98RON. Time and time again, its been mentioned a bajillionity times. 98RON is fine for JDM's. I run it on my own GTB I've never had issues with knock or ping (whilst within normal parameters).
3) Big Difference between manual and auto ECU's. I know for a fact that that ECU is not for a manual BG5 GTB. Whether it's for a GT or Auto GTB, I can't be sure. I'm also 97% sure that the Auto has the TCU built into the ecu, and not a standalone unit like on other model subarus.
4) BG5 also had the GT. Again, different tune and engine, but the manual GT is more similar to the Auto GTB. The Manual GTB is the balls out 206kw model and is completely unique.
Please get your facts right before posting like this. It's frustrating to read people giving misleading information about stuff they don't know about.
Thanks.
And Rob. It should be OK. It appears to be a factory ECU that's had its vital parameters reprogrammed. (rev cut, speed cut, etc etc). Air con idle should be fine, that is not something the aftermarket tuners fiddle with. It should be safe to use, and many people use these styles of ECU in their rides. In fact, Dylan runs some sort of aftermarket replacement (retuned factory) ECU. I forget the brand, but it was a plug in replacement, and after driving his car, it runs fine from that point of view.

Love the Terminator series.
Yep - go see it then.
Thankfully they didn't do anything stupid to wreck the movie which I was a little worried about...
Watch for the cameo appearance of Arnie, and Linda Hamilton's (the original Sarah Connor) voice.

Just to clarify, the BG5 auto has a seperate TCU (well my GT did). It was nice just unplugging it and throwing it in the bin.

The GT went into the panel beaters this morning.
