They're slow as shite. Got a family friend who has one.

Nothing compared to the new STi or even the WRX.


Yeah but my clutch was gone, would slip at 3,000 each gear so wasn't a fair race..

It still got up off the line like a rocket.. hahhaa

The golf certainly looks nice :D I have NFI what they go like... just Walts suggestion that they are slow which would be dissapointing.

They are not slow. But they would bore me to tears compared to an STi.

I think the GTI is about 145kw? So the R would be more than that.
But all you crazy cats have fast cars so it would be slow.

05 STI? Still has dccd etc and they should come into your price range. Engines are fairly strong too, a mates looking at getting 260kw@w from the stock motor with a few bolt on's ;)

When your bored of that get launch control and and flat foot shifting programed on the ecu :)
