Heading back to find another route home. Was stopped just outside of Coffs to flooded roads and was going to be a 4 hr wait.

It's windy here, but definitely no rain. Shocking. Three days of rain became eight hours or rain.

Morgy Morg, head for the hills and take the New England highway. If you can get to just before Urunga head up waterfall way to Dorigo, very very windy slow road and you would want to be careful (ive done it in the wet a few times ) if you cant get down that far take the road that heads west from Coffs (cant remember its name but GPS it) that will head to Dorigo too. from Dorigo head to Armidale which will take you to the new England Highway.. you can then follow that almost to Newcastle.. all on high dry ground so you wont need to worry about the flooding.

Just take note Morgan that if you do take waterfall way be VERY carefull, it is very steep, lots and lots of tight corners (25-35km/h type corners) and it will have a lot of water on it, also a lot of motorbikes use the road (maybe not so much today) but it should get you home at least.. if you are carefull

I remember driving near Grafton on the way to the Gold Coast.

Some crazy driving roads there. But there was also some big logging trucks taking up most of the road at some stages.

Plus it had an open speed limit.

Thing is Nik it is probably his ONLY choice..... spoke to mum and dad and the rain is increasing.. Pacific highways is already blocked at certain points and will only get worse possibly for a few days... I wouldn't have suggested it if he had many other options.... douche!
