Bought this for $130 on I.M. It is the same as my ecu (9H) but is chipped.
Yes I always run 98 and I have a catback and a BMC filter and a resonatorectomy.

So tell me people what am I in for?

Yeah I thought I would bundle with the strut braces so it was too good to resist.
Will it go pop on WOT?

Yeah I will also take it to the dyno and have it looked at. Hopefully AFR's will be ok but these chips do run it lean. It goes hard now with all the cold air around so I can't wait to see how it goes with the chip.

Nice one Rob. I've got a v2 STi RA ECU with a mines chip in it running my car. VERY nice. Huge improvement over the standard OEM JDM WRX ECU. I haven't tested AFR's properly, but going by my back bar and spark plugs I am pretty certain it's running very rich :) I've seen dyno charts from the ECU in an RS running more boost and AFR's were very very healthy so no worries for me :)

Mate I don't have dyno figures or anything, but I noticed a huge difference when I hooked it up. Much more aggressive tune, rev limiter increased and no speed limit :diablo: I am looking forward to replacing my up pipe (current one is cracked) and winding some more boost in to it. I will then start to notice the difference :) Might be a good time to get yours dyno'd mate, before and after :) ?

Its only a 5 minute job to change them over so I can do a before and after on the spot. Could be fun.

Sounds good :) I've still got both mine in the car anyway, one is bolted down, the other is just sitting on top of it with the carpet over it ha ha. Would be interesting to make a switch for both of them so I can flick between them, but a lot of wiring required and I actually find it's quite fuel economic on the MINES ECU driving around town.

The Mines tune ecu in mine when i bought it eliminated speed cut, upped the boost from a stock 11psi to 14 (Foz ecu) not sure about increased rev limit. Al said that the way the Mines tune ecu's make the extra power is leaning it out a little. Either way, you'll be happy. :D

itll be interestig to see what happens, remember its likely tuned for100 RON fuel, it may ping somewhat. id definitely get it checked on the dyhno before giving it muh grief round town, make sure they put their detonation equipment on it to see if its detonating at all.

Or I just get a rubber stopper for the back of the throttle pedal  At least thats what Dave said would stop detonation. It all sounds good so now I play the waiting game.

You already have a 100RON ecu.
I don't see how this new ECU would cause such dramas.

Plug it in.
Drive away.
Watch/listen for the first 20k's.
If it's still good, NAIL THE HOLY SWEET BABY VISHNU OUT OF IT!

Well Mr. Postman turned up this morning and 10 mins later the chip was in. Half hour later and it pulls more boost and goes a fair bit harder. I hope it stays that way as I don't want det. It got a nano second of hesitation on WOT but it was all good. 3 more psi all round. FTW. Oh and all for $130.

I did about 100k's today and went WOT many times. Not once did it detonate. But it hits boost really hard like a single now. When it hits the secondary it made 18psi! No probs. It has fuel cut eliminator. After reading all the scary stories about only running 100 octane and issues I can say that 98 seems to be fine. Lets hope the leaner mixture gives me more k's per tank too. FTW!

Mate, sounds like its the best $130 you ever spent, and plug and play too. :) Winner. Might have to trade the n/a for a twin and do the same!!! Cheers J
