I didn't like the plastic MFD hood. The Aussie Levorg actually comes with these pieces, however with blue stitching. Also changed the gear surround insert to the polished Carbon Fiber style to match the dash inserts.

Couple more things on their way. Leather handbrake boot with red stitching is the next trim change. But that isn't a Subaru part. They don't make an alternate one.

JDM.

The last of the genuine parts have arrived. I'll have to give it a rest for a while after these projects.

I can't say I like CVT yet, I have driven a few around. Not the Subaru one yet. But I am biased anyway as I would always choose a manual over a auto as I just like the extra interaction. Though I really hate that they have gone away from what the original CVT was because people complained it didn't feel right, the way they make it to try and mimic gear changes is crap IMO, They should of just left it how it was as it was able to be in the best place for power and also cruising it was better on fuel.

Subaru probably make the best ones atm. Still I'd rather a ZF 8 Speed anyday...

I couldn't help myself. I'm undecided on the Levorg styling now that I see them around.

In I mode the CVT will work in the traditional sense. S and S# will simulate gears. See below.

The DRLs and LED fog lights are installed. Our cars come with an ugly yellow DRL in the fog lights. You can change the bulb for a cheap mod. The JDM DRL isn't plug and play on our harness. I considered locating the JDM loom section but ended up with bullet connectors and electrical tape. I'm thinking to change it to a waterproof Deutsch Connector.

The kit came with a switch but I'm not sure what it does or if its compatible. ADR/Euro regulations state that the DRL should turn off when either fog or headlights are activated (I think some manufacturers dim the LEDs). I'd only install that switch if its an override for that function.

Swapped in the Deutsch Connectors this afternoon. It's actually very close to the JDM connector. I can quickly plug and play the original DRL fog lights if I wish. Love these things, so quick and easy. Highly recommend.

I tried to install the Door Mirror Auto System. Fail. Can't get it to work. Might need an auto electrician or the module itself is stuffed.

It's the same part number for all VA (H2717VA000) platform cars, there is a similar part for the BRZ/86 (H2717CA000) that has more forum threads. You have to tap the Yellow wire to the loom for the lock. I assume to detect a pulse when locked. I've emailed JapanParts for a wiring diagram as I saw they had sent one to an 86 owner. I can't find a DIY thread for this on any Aussie forums. It's usually about some cheaper Chinese equivalent or 'done, that was easy' with no explanation.

:dash2:

On the plus side I have fixed the bass rattle in that door with genuine trim foam. So not a complete waste of 4 hours.

JapanParts have just sent me english translated instructions for the Door Mirror Auto System. I've attached it here for others to see. I can see where I was going wrong now. Apparently you remove 2 wires from the stock harness, replace them with the two coming out of this harness. Then put those 2 removed wires into the supplied connector and hook it all up. Maybe when I've got the balls to mess with auto electrics again, I'll give it another shot.

EDIT: Those instructions are spot on. The module is installed and working.
