My thrust bearing needs replacing in my 2002 Impreza RS (2.5L)

Could someone please shed some light on how to go about this as i dont know much about the transmission setup in the 2002's, also any tips i would be able to follow for the process?

Thanks :D

You can change the bearing without removing the box completely. Undo the box from the engine, undo the GB mounts and remove the tail shaft.
Then with a trolley jack supporting the Box you can move the box back 2-3 inches which will be enough room to replace the bearing.
I can't remember if removing the drive shafts is necessary.....
