MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Supposedly, as the wheel rotates the LH thread won't work loose on the LH (I think they were on that side) side of the car.

 

Kinda the same theory as the 'center knockoffs' on the old British cars.

Same for the old Bedford trucks. Actually that said, many heavy vehicles still have left hand threads on the LHS of the vehicle. Need to look for a pressed L on the end of the stud.

Siiiiiiiiick! Leave the nose cone off for that Mad Max look!

Will you be creating your own fibreglass nose cones for a different style and possibly different setups according to what type of track you’re attacking?

Video was good. You need a non-fisheye lens and a soft wheel dolly to walk it around on for that real pro look! I like the low lighting on the walls of your shed too, a great idea I’ll be using when I finally have my own shed!

I have been working on the front end, trying to make the panels fit over the new wheels by trimming away metal and plastic from the front fenders and bumper.
 
This photo shows how low the car is and also that I have extended the wheelbase by 35mm by moving the front wheels forward.

After some trimming I could get the panels back on, you can see I need to remake the panels with a new shape.

I also had to seek some clarification on the rules as one section said I could cut away any metal necessary for bump clearance and another section said I could only make changes to the shock towers solely for suspension geometry changes.
 
After getting the go-ahead from the technical director I did the minimum amount of trimming to the strut towers so the tyres would no longer make contact.

I have also been trimming away some metal around the wheel wells to help with air evacuation, I post some photos of that once its done.

Hmmm, why keep the obsolete strut towers at all if you’re allowed to? Or is trimming for bump clearance all that is allowed?

I’m really digging the stance of this vehicle, how low it sits really gives it that NASCAR spec look!

Yes I have to keep the strut towers but trimming is allowed for tyre bump clearance, addition or relocation of suspension pickup geometry and safety cage fitment only.

 

I would have just cut them off if I could, it would certainly make things easier. Conforming to the rules has made this whole project a lot more difficult in so many ways but a car built to no rules is kind of useless and has less value if I ever want to sell it.

Good move on sticking to the rules. It looks really odd how its just hanging there without any physical purpose. Maybe stamp it with Im here for the rule book for S&Gs.
