Hey guys, anyone fitted a awning to thier gen 6 outback? I'm trying to look around for kits but I'm having no luck, if you have pictures that would be sensational!
It would be a great addition for camping

Hi, i too want to do this to my 2012 OB but i have thule roof racks on there and im not sure how i can attach the 3cm wide awning mount brackets to the narrow roof racks. Please can i ask for advice.

An ARB 2500 will do the job on Outbacks. Rhino Rack and Thule make brackets to fit, plus some other companies. You will have to bolt the awning base to your roof racks.

Would have thought you should be able to rig something up with the OEM optional cross-bars 

 

(caveat - I use a tarp and bits of rope)

Thanks guys, yes I'm coming up with ideas with connect the 4WD SupaCentre Awning brackets to my Thule roof racks. tricky though!

 

Agreed they are much cheaper, around $100 or so total cost!

Thinking of using the two bolts to secure the awning. I can't find out what type of bolts are holding this tie down point on, but it should be structural enough for a awning
