Looks like a pretty good example of a Brumby.

What's the plans?

I'm wanting to fit a complete MY05 WRX front with EJ25T. Would love to fit the same model dashboard too. It runs great as is.

It's my first major project car, so it'll be a learning curve. I've started rubbing back the little dings and dents to get it ready for paint down the track. Not sure how to go about the engine an d front end yet. I figured the best start would be to get a good half cut and go from there

To put EJ motor in you need to cut the chassis rails and lots of other mods, engineering will be your challenge.

There seems to be a few of them done here in QLD.

I do agree, it's a massive job. Never going to sell it though. The easiest part for me will be creating the interior. Tens years worth of upholstery experience has taught me a thing or two.

The full front end under the brumby should be doable with some work.

You'll need to work out how to bolt the engine crossmember to the body's chassis rail with differing bolt locations for both (engine crossmember bolt holes = wider than brumby chassis rail bolts).  The widening of the chassis rails is well documented on various forums, do some research on this.

The interior will only work properly if you fit the WRX climate control equipment.  A guy in QLD did it in an MY coupe (same shape as the brumby) - I can't remember exactly what he did but you can read about it on ausubaru.com - his username was/is 85WRX.  The thing was mint after he finished it.  I believe it's since been sold and it was fully engineered so it can certainly be done.  One difference is that I don't think he ran the EJ front end.

I'll be keen to see this thing done!

Cheers

Bennie
