P0118 after intake manifold installation on 2002 b4

Hi all i have just finsihed reinstalling my intake manifold on my 2002 b4 i have cel witch my scan tool says engine coolent temp sensor i may have forgotten to plug it back in or its come off. I cant seem to see where it is anywhere can someone here tell me where that sensor is located thanks.

According to the workshop manual, it's near the oil pressure switch and crank sensor. Have a good look and you should see it.

 

Code suggests its unplugged.

Ok i found it the 3 wires that run into it have came out of the connector are you able to tell me witch wire goes where in connector

See attached, but you should be able to work it out just using the wiring colours, which are hopefully as follows:

 

Pin - colour

 

1 - BG  (Black / Green Stripe)

2 - H (? No idea.  Probably a typo)

3 - WG (White / Green Stripe)

Coolant temp sensors usually only have two wires, one is ground the other is signal.

Was it unplugged?

Looks like it is a three wire sensor. One ground, ECU signal and ground for temp gauge.
Never seen this before in the one sensor??

No it wasnt unpluged but the three wires that run into the connector came out so har to 0ut them back in the connector but now my temp gauge is playing up like it will sit in the nornal position where it sits witch is jusy under half then i go over a bump or around a corner and it will eather go right up in the hot then come back down after a few seconds or go right down in the cool side then back in the normal position after a few seconds
