G'day brains trust...
Having had my new (to me) 2011 WRX sedan for a few weeks now, I've noticed that the FM radio reception is the worst I've ever experienced on an OEM head unit. As soon as I start driving the volume starts to fade and surge, same with the balance left to right. When the car's parked the reception is ok, both on FM & AM bands.
The AUX input in the centre console seems to work fine, but is has a video input that will only play audio from any video I have on my iPhone.
Are these common things?
I'm getting a towbar fitted next weekend, and I've ordered a reverse camera and the connector for the back of the head unit so I can use the OEM screen for the reverse camera. Once these arrive I'll be handing the car over to an auto electrician to do the install, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if there's a fix I should be letting the auto electrician know about while they're mucking around at the back of the head unit?
