Hi all.
I'm looking for a nice note for my 02 Liberty wagon. I really have no idea on upgrades and this is my first Suby.
I'm not looking at wanting anything pricey and happy to buy second hand.
Any suggestions on what would be an easy fit and noticable tone. Not loud but beautiful sounding
Thanks.

If you’re after Subi beat start with a set of UELs then go for a bolt on catback 2.25 inch exhaust with a nice muffler out back. I’ve got no idea what will work well up back.

Look at other people’s threads and see what they’ve done. I had a set of UELs made by an exhaust building mate that made all the difference between straight 4 Honda spec to near WRX beat spec. The rear muffler is the let down now (clapped out like).

Cheers

3 inch, don't skip the muffler.

Where are you? I have a TT Y-join back you can have cheap. Sounds pretty good. I think it's 2.5". Even has a long wagon tip.

It's the one on the left here

Im in NZ so bit of a stretch if your in Aus, i thought 3inch would be too big and mess with back pressure? Without muffler would it be too loud

Ha!.

Mate - its a turbo. Back pressure is the last thing you want.

Do a youtube search on straight-pipe GTB's - they sound like poo.

Ok so 3inch cat back straight pipe with a muffler would be the way to go then. Or what would be recommended, i want the nice boxer subi rumble with some volume.

You're in NZ - plenty of JDM GTB's around. I'd be sussing out wreckers and locals for second hand systems, or at least a nice JDM muffler like a Genome

JDM mufflers tend to be a bit on the quiet side from my experience

Im going to start off with 3inch cat back straight pipe and il look around for a good muffler, unless i like the straight pipe then il leave it without the muffler
