Just on the note of D2's, they're the same as G4's incase you didn't know. I've also heard horror stories with these brands. Such as a guy testing out G4 brakes and having a caliper bolt sheer off and have the caliper bounce off the rotor onto the wheel repeatedly. Mind you im only speaking from what ive read. But i havnt heard anything good either.....
KYB AGX's are adjustable as well i think. Might be an idea to check out a AGX/king spring combo.
I too have heard of horror stories with cheap coilovers. Avoid like its swineAIDS.
I wouldn't go coilovers personally. but if you do decide to go down that path, choose a decent brand of coilover THAT IS SUPPORTED HERE IN AUSTRALIA! Don't buy obscure JDM parts that can't be rebuilt/serviced here in Australia!
But to make some use of the coilovers, you'd want to start throwing serious coin at your suspension if that's what you're after... polyurethane bushes, braces, bars, etc etc.
I got my bilstein struts rebuilt (at a hefty sum) and they're stiff. but not too stiff. After all, its a road car. Not a track car

After checking my facts, I think Scuba-Roo was actually correct in saying only lowering more than 50mm will require RTA approval (that'll do me!)... pretty sure previously lowered cars will be fine...ive missed out on all this august 1st stuff for lowering...but will a previously lowered car require approval???
Cheers for the advice guys, glad i asked before wasting $1700! Have also heard that coilovers will create all sorts of rattles in the car when driving on normal roads which makes sense...
After a bit more thought i reckon the AGX/king spring combo sounds pretty good....
Thanks again!
