Hi All,

My name is Bobby, I just moved back to Sydney and I have my S401 landing in Port Kembla on the 24th March.

I want to know, if anyone here has been through the compliance process, or could recommend any company that could assist?

I do have a quotation, and I guess I just want to make sure I am not getting a poor deal.

The only comprehensive quote I have received is from Complete Car Care in Seven Hills.

Everyone else has been a bit vague about the entire costs involved.

This is a small gallery of my S401. https://www.flickr.c...0390@N06/710727

This is my single turbo BD5 Legacy https://flic.kr/s/aHsmr1TvV4

This is my youtube channel of my other Subarus: https://www.youtube....4wa8dFNhE0qVzPA

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Bobbyl!

@Bumpty will know some info on this I believe he imported his wagon from NZ. But he might have done this through Tassie years ago so things would be different.

Cheers

Just an update the vehicle is now in quarantine, getting cleaned. Apparently New Zealand dirt is not clean enough lol.

Hi All,

So I finally picked up my car yesterday. Its great driving something familiar.

I can say that Sydney roads are quite poor, I feel alot of bumps and imperfections than in Auckland.

The car feels solid, and is very very clean right now.

Its too bad we are on essential travel, as I would of liked to take some photos more scenic, rather than work.

Also does anyone have insurance company suggestions?

Thats awesome, I'd love one of those cars!

Did you just put it on a ship before actually finding someone to help with compliance? Can I ask how much it cost and how much of a headache it was?

An S401 would be an awesome weekend car!

Very nice... If you ever contemplate selling it, please PM me... would be very interested.

We need more photos!!!

I'm with WFI for insurance, another one to try, but shannons also are very good, especially as its a rare car.

Cheers,

Ben

+1 for Shannons, I've been with them for over 30 years.

Made a couple of claims with them too, has always been hassle free and allowed the repairs to be done properly.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Nice. I'm not aware of any of these in Aus? Maybe only one. I miss my B4 all the time.

Subaru AUS owns one. Gets tarted around for Subynats and so on.

People have sighted other ones over the years as well

This was imported from NZ as a personal import, so I had to get a Vehicle Import License. I am not sure on how to import it from anywhere.

For anyone who has ever considered exporting their car to Sydney from New Zealand, I can tell you it is an expensive exercise.

All up freight, marine insurance, tax can be 3-4k

Compliance, CTP insurance, rego, blue slips, compliance plate, weigh bridge and transportation is 2-3k

Awesome! Good to see a car like this in Oz.

I work in the automotive industry and can get you a quote with insurance. The insurer is Toyota Insurance. The others that the guys have suggested are also recommended for car enthusiasts.
