Brian’s new daily

2011 Impreza xv (BG11XV)

Hey everyone

Time came to get a new car for a few reasons, the wagon would never get completed while having to use it for daycare runs and getting to work .

So the plan is to park the wagon in the new carport now that we have moved to a house where I have a drive through garage to a huge carport. I can work on it there installing all the rare bits and suspension upgrades and get a few bits repainted then sell it as a complete car, it’s pretty much ready to go for a turbo conversion for someone to do.

After a long time hating new cars in general it taken me the last 3 years to decide what I would buy.

I did not want another wagon and sedan was too small for boot space, and I wanted something with flares, so I chose a 2011 Impreza xv as I liked the 08 wrx my mate had for a while.

But of course, changing it up my own my a bit.

Don’t really care about performance but since going from a 2.5 to a 2.0 I midas well make It feel quick :P

I use to really hate the look of these, But after seeing a tidy WRX STI Spec R in that purple mica colour and nearly buying it instead of the Forester S-Edition. I fell in love with them.

Should be nice once you have finished with it.

Nice choice! Black sheep of Subarus, only lasted 1 year. I think its a neat car, small but lifted with a comfy ride and the mocha WRX seats is a great touch.

We have one as a kid carrier. Stock wheels ruin it. Id suggest rear lamp overlays and a short shifter, stock is really sloppy IMO. So what I did, 2015 XV wheels and tyres, **just** clears, like one finger can fit clearance. Fills up the wheel wells without spring swap. Cut polish, removed the garbages protection plastics. Added tint and weather shields. Was complete set with rear bumper protector, mats, weathersheilds and boot liner for $200 off ebay when I got it. Aero wipers, removed "impreza" badge. Put in parking sensors too, cut through bumper with a drill bit, stencil supplied with the kit makes it easy.
