Hey people

As of last weekend, a noise has appeared, mostly when i turn left but also on hard rights its coming from my front RHS wheel area.
Took the wheel off but there was nothing visibly unusual.

Took a video this afternoon of the noise can anyone shed some light on this situation?

If you havent taken the wheel off yet, check to see if the nuts can be tightened a turn or so more. Can be the symptons of a wheel bearing packing itself in. I dont think it would quite cause that sort of noise so quickly though. Checked to see any rocks/stones that may of caught up somewhere and scrapping? ive had a similar noise to that and it was a rock caught between the rotors and the dust cover.

CV joint i would think... wheel bearing usually makes more of a screeching sound to begin with, but not always. easy way to tell if its wheel bearing is go for a decent high speed drive for 10 mins or so, ty not to be on the brakes alot if at all, then pull over and feel the temp of the centre of the wheel and the rear of hub assembly, if its quite alot hotter than the other side its almost certainly wheel bearing.

I thought the cv boot would normally split before the cv starts making any noise. you havent seen grease on the rims sometimes have you morgan?

Hard to tell but i dont think wheel bearing, sounds too tinny. As buddylove said, any stones jammed in there? Since the CVs have just been done, are the hub nuts still tight?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Yea took the wheel off and back on again. I put the nuts back on real tight (took the video after that). Could be a stone i guess but couldnt see anything!

Get the hub inspected and wheel bearing. Take off the caliper and see if there is any rocks sitting on the edge of the brake pad. Hope you sort it out soon morgan! :empathy3:

Found this from a few weeks ago; thought id give it closure... Turns out my driveshaft was twisted. They loosened the bearing and did something else and noise went away?? Not sure exactly but it fixed the problem - well only heard it once since (on full lock). If it comes back im up for a new bearing. Cheers

<_< sounds like maybe they didn't put the pin back in then.. dont see how it could possibly twist even so, bust still thats kinda worrying, its not on the side you were hit is it?
