Its only on the drivers side...

Car has done just over 200k done the timing belt about 7K ago and there was no sign of this crap on the engine then...

Could it be my head gasket? I checked my top radiator hose for leaks but nothing... My engine temps are fine never goes above halfway...

Replace that clamp. Those factory clamps are simply rubbish. Failing that, replace the hoses (with new clamps!). Rest assured, it doesn't appear to be a headgasket issue!

Alex has it right mate, I have no idea what any manufacturer was thinking using those forked style hose clamps.. its cost cutting at its worst. If the head gasket had gone you would more then likely be experiencing other symptoms.

I had another look again during lunch and Alex u were right, shitty hose clamp isnt clamping properly and there was a little bit of coolant leaking out the end of the hose. Seeing as Im gonna change the clamp, im thinking i should change the hose as well... The real question is, where should I get the hose? Do I go OEM? Repco? Autobarn?

Mate I'd check the auto shops 1st (autobarn etc). OEM will be expensive... P.S Don't skimp on the hose clamp! :drinks:

You can get silicone ones that come with good quality clamps , They don't cost too much..

Use a Gates aftermarket hose if you can. I find them better than MacKay. Two new hose clamps also. Don't overtighten it at the radiator end or you may crack the radiator outlet.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I went 2 Autobarn Bankstown yesterday, they had no hoses in stock but rubber hoses they get Gates n the silicone ones had 2 be shipped in n take up 2 a week... So instead I just got a real hose clamp and changed it last nite... Seemed to have fixed the leak...

Degrease the engine bay, and monitor it. I'd order the hoses. Gates as Jason says. I don't trust the silicone hoses.

I gave it a quick degrease after I change the clamp. I'll order the hose today... The clamp on the radiator side was already changed when we did the timing belt so that should be ok...
