In this country, you gotta make the money first.
Then when you get the money, you get the power.
Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

Get a GDB alloy one off ebay (AU$200). It will fit.
You MAY/MAY NOT need to do some modifications to your fan mounts but the rest will fit well.
And they are bloody thick.
Frankie's got the best advice.
GDB rad.
Game over!

Thanks for the help guys, after many hours on the phone yesterday i found a place that told me the GDB rad will fit and they have them new ones in stock and i am going out to collect one this morning. 330 quid. Still better than the 480 and a weeks wait from Subaru main dealer for direct replacement Legacy one.
Anyone know how much this will improve the cooling.
Improve?
You want it to run normal operating temps.
You don't want it to run too cool, else you'll loose economy/performance.

Sorry Alex improve was a poor choice of words, i meant make the cooling system more efficient.

New rad is in its good to have my car back, looks good under the bonnet to...
Hey mate, I know this was some time ago now. But the same thing happened to my radiator. With the alloy radiator being a GDB one, did it have a pressure cap on the radiator?
