Which would you rather own?? Have a mate who wants one, looking to spend round $20k. Thoughts/opinions??

V6 has better looks and is lighter but Bug has AVCS, Brembos, 6 speed and is stiffer. GC8 as they in the long run will be worth more.

GC8...I couldnt get past looking at the eyeballs either. I'd feel embarrased.

BugSTI for sure, Much better platform in every aspect. Open source ECU tuning is availible ad having the benifits of 6 speed, brembo's, R180 rear end, Better seats and much more goodies. It would be silly to go the GC8. But if he is thinking of any other options get a Mitsubishi lancer EVO 6.5, Mak edition. Much better than STI

Good point on the evo... bonus points for you for thinking outside the box! Thanks for the input guys, I've always loved the classics and would find it hard to go past one myself, but the Bug's got the goodies....... GC8 w/Bug donor car = WIN.

get him out to have a drive of some nice examples, see what he thinks Seriously consider the Evo though, The Makkinen editions are the sought after version having the better Turbo (titanium wheel) tighter suspension and updated front bar. They handle like a dream, Not as under steery as the STI, you can feel the front always biting in and pulling you through the corner, with a touch of the back end trying to get out. They respond very well to modifications aswell. 3" Exhaust, change the position of the airbox and Battery.. for better intake piping. get a tune and it will be awwesome

Bugeye seems like a much better package, But i would buy the V6 over the bugeye on the looks alone

I was under the impression that they did.. Is that right? if they are R160, then that solves my answer to were the 3.9 R160's come from, that i need for a customer

Hi, I would much prefer the bug eye. White bug eye on dark rims is just awesome. Evo is a good point, but the bug eye seems to be one of the weird left field Subies that you can find good solid low k's, no molestation examples reasonably easily. Same can't be said for the Ego's. Cheers, Nik
