Hi Guys, In a bit of trouble I need a rear strut brace for my 03 Liberty B4 .. Its supposed to be BE5 but I purchased a cusco one from Ebay and it don't fit. From what I read it should be the same as a legacy BE5 ? any ideas ? also does anyone know if the BH rear strut brace will fit? Cheers, Will

to answer you question.

front = yes. without question.
rear = depends.

I mean, in a sedan, I think that there would be enough rigidity in the rear bulkhead/parcel shelf for it to negate the need for a rear one.

I have heard a few reports that a rear strutbrace on a sedan was somewhat of a wasted exercise, in that, people felt minimal difference compared to the outlay of cost.

In a wagon: HELL YES. Wagons are sloppy as all get out. The need rear stiffening.

I really rate my rear whiteline brace. I got the whiteline because it has the quick-release fittings, enabling me to use my wagon as a wagon!

Will - Buying on ebay = FAIL. China copies are fantastic these days, so much so, parts are replicated to the point where there is total disregard for fit, but making it look bling bling is the focus.

Sell. Spend money on parts that will actually do something for your car.

Like swaybars.

But I see where this is going...

I have a Cusco rear strut brace in my Rx Lib, same one that fits a B4. Why doesn't yours fit, just too long?

The part number for mine was "680 536A" in a carbon fibre look finish.

There are 3-4 others with a different finish/metal type for the car, but the starting number is always the same "680"

I can take a quick pic of how it mounts on my car if you need? Will have to wait till it gets back from its service tho.

Here's a link to the Cusco catalogue. (pg2)

Subaru Strut bars.

*EDIT*

It doesn't actually bolt on top of the Strut bolts, it bolts onto wall where the little 'L' bracket also bolts it self to.

Believe it or not I tried to fit it in every position upside down back to front. Even tested it at the front. the bugga just doesn't want to get in there.
