Shall I get the tip extended 1 or 2cm past or have it made to sit flush with the bar?

So I have the x-force MP02 muff fitted and it has a short tip. I went to a stainless place and got a nice piece of stainless 302 pipe (free!) and am getting the it extended.
So what do I do? Have it exended to the edge of the bar or past a couple of cm?

Well we are going to cut off the original tip and weld an extension from the body then put the tip back on the extension. I doubt it will sound any different.

if the tip is further out of the bumper it is quieter in the car... especially a wagon seeing the rear end is a big sound box.

this was proven 100% in my car anyway..

Well Mark (Cruisn) is running the same 2.5in to MP02 muff and he has no resonator and it barks more than mine. My car is quite muffled in comparison. Although it may be the small primary turbo exhaust housing keeping things quiet.

Hi, Flush or inset. Extended beyond seems silly to me. Cheers, Nik

Having under the bumper is technically illegal too :P. Has to exit from underneith the car, and not stick out past it.

flush. no other way! besides legalities, if it sticks out too much, you'll burn your leg if you touch it whilst tending to the rear. if its too much inset, you'll foul your bumper with black smoke!

I second this, Isn't it actually legal if it's past the last door?
