Does anyone know how to replace the bulb in the fog lights on gen3's? My pass side fog lights not working, consulted the manual which tells me "The fog light bulb may be difficult to replace - see your Subaru dealer" :dash2: Cheers

On the Gen 2 there was a couple of bolts underneath holding the back cover of the fog lights on, which you had to take off to access the bulbs. I would assume it's similar. Come on Buzz, you're a handy sort of bloke. You can change your suspension but you can't change a light-bulb lol.

Lol, to get it on ramps I need ramps onto the ramps  I had to put concrete pads a couple inches thick in the garage where the front wheels end up so that I can get my trolley jack under the side :sarcastic:

Just finished, put some nice white, 4000K's in (came with the parker bulbs too, so did them aswell). It wasn't actually the globe, the twist on housing had come off (testament to the condish of some of the roads it sees) but seeing how I'd already got new ones I did em anyway. As ^^^^ said, no need to take out. Can also do the parkers from under there aswell, is a bit more difficult as you can't see once you get your hand up near it, and it's a bit squashed trying to put the new globe in... it's prob easier to take the headlight out, but, if your doing the foggies anyway it's pretty straight forward.

mmm, I'd like to change my Foggie globes in my gen 3 OBK to match my parkers slightly better which are LED's as of today, can u buy a globe for the fogs that is just whiter or do you have to do that HID process ( which i am extremely unfamiliar to!)

I'll give ya a yell when I'm changing them, come down to Show Us Your Tints HQ and I'll show you how to do it.

Cheers,

Globes are H3 I'm pretty sure, most of the cheap white ones on eBay aren't very bright compared to the factory yellow ones.
Maybe a decent set from autobarn/repco/supercheap may be a little better and brighter.
Just unscrew the light- 2 screws at the top and then pull it out, you might have to get into the back of the housing so get under the car and open the plastic cover up to make it easier. Once you get the light off, there are 2 smaller screws to unscrew, unscrew them and then detatch the bulb and replace.
It's pretty simple.

yeah mate if you don't want to go hid's you can use some of the "white" type xenon globes from repco etc. probably set you back $50 or so. very easy to change once you stick your head under the car and have a look

Yeah... But they'll be crap unlike the stock ones. (even though they are also crap..)
I put them or similar ones in mine and could only just make out they were on.
Buy local I say..

Well i pulled them apart just to suss it out, Sam is right they are H3 globes and really quite simple to get at by undoing the 2 screws above front cover and then one behind the globe, then
the whole unit just pops out.

Relax with the blue globes.

Blue light wont penetrate like 'normal' light does.

For foggies to be effective, they need to be quite yellow.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
