Japanese-based auto maker Subaru has officially launched Subaru Plug-in STELLA electric vehicle for the Japanese market. Based on the Subaru STELLA mini car, the electromobile is expected to hit the roads as early as next month, with a total of 170 units planned for this year.
The lithium-ion battery pack can be recharged to 80% in 15 minutes with a quick charging system, while a full recharge requires 8 hours via a 100V household power outlet or 5 hours via a 200V outlet. The Subaru Plug-in STELLA is powered by a 63HP electric motor with 170Nm of torque and is able to offer a top speed of 100 km/h.
The 4-seater electric vehicle goes for 4,725,000 yen (including consumption tax) and additional tax reduction is also expected to be offered thanks to special measures conducted by Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
