18x8.5 with 225? fitted over brembos without spacers?

Curious. Over the gold STi rims, need something different. I suppose the other bit of info that will decide if they fit or not is the fact they will be going on a Gen 3.

Any ideas fellas?

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

any ideas on how the 8.5s with 225s would go on a gen 3 lib? Don't really want to go buy new rims just to find they dont fit...

Always thought 18x7.5 was the max on a gen 3, but hey.

Zach has 18x8.5's on his gen 3 with 215's I believe.

.

Zach has 18x8.5's on his gen 3 with 215's I believe.

Yeh i saw, Zach's car at the MCM meet at Parklea markets carpark, it was look phat, im not sure what rim it was but it was stretched as, so stretched that there were business cards inbetween his rim edge and the tire, so the card was basically where the bead should sit, haha looked awesome. But yeh i was concerned about the maximum width of a rim on a gen 3 liberty, aparently its about 8 inch's for stock suspension, otherwise you'll need coilovers and depending on the offset might need to roll your guards so it doesnt rub if your lowering the car. My idea is to go for concave spoke rims like the Rota DPT's CE 28N style, Enkei RSM9, Enkei J10, NT03-M, or the RS05 Super Black , but not sure of the maximum offset and max rim width to fit so standard suspension doesnt need to be changed. But yeh Zach had coilovers, and if his rims are 18.8.5's then i guess thats the clearance you have for a rim, you just need him about offset and whether he has rolled the guards cause that can alter clearance dramatically, even 3/4 of an inch make a difference.

Ohh i forgot to add XXR 527's look hot with their concave design, you will generally get this with minimum offset meaning the wheel mounts closer to the centre line of the rim. If they made them in 8 or 8.25 inch id get them, i think they only come in 8.75 and up, normally used in staggered setups or cars such as supras or evos with more clearance for wider tires.

Nope, you will be fairly fine with 8.5 as long as they are closeish to stock offset. but you can get 10's under them with +25 offset. ie: my piece of crap. but i don't even think you would have to roll guards with high offset 8.5's.
