Have fun...
http://legacygt.com/...ils-200814.html
Hello all. I am rkrenicki, the person who wrote up that LegacyGT.com thread. Unfortunately, that is not my primary workthread, which is located here instead: http://sl-i.net/FORU...php?f=8&t=25730
The information that I have is for the Black Faced Meter, and may not necessarily apply to the 300km/h A~C type STI cluster, however a good place to start would be the A~C type wiring I have in the SL-i thread.
The D type STI cluster is not a white face, but a black face like what is found in the Legacy S401.

Dont quote me on this but apparently the sti cluster will not swap for the B4 or 3.0R cluster but will for other models.
I am not sure what you mean by the "B4 cluster" as B4 just means Sedan. JDM clusters are the same between the Sedan and Wagon versions. The H6 3.0 cars have their own cluster which compensates for the 6 cylinder Tachometer signal. A H4 cluster will "work" in an H6 car and vice-versa, but the tachometer will either be 33% too fast or too slow depending on direction.

Generally in Australia the B4 refers to the twin turbo sedan (RSK?).

Read through the thread you referenced rkrenicki. Lots of valuable info there. Cheers for posting it all up, and well done for doing what you have. That is an insane job.
MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.
MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Read through what thread? I wrote both of the ones listed here..
He’s saying he read (verb w/ object. to look at carefully so as to understand the meaning of) and then commended and thanked for you work on, collating and writing it up into a thread as a resource for others. He isn’t telling you to read (verb without object) it. He knows you wrote it

I guess I am too used to American forums where people tell you to read this or that without actually understanding the context.
I do have a number of Australian service manuals, so I may be able to answer some questions about the conversion in AUDM cars, but it will take me some time to dig through them all.

Is there a specific manual for the 98-01 gen three's or is it just the same manual as 01-03?
