ORIENT WATCH CO., LTD. has announced that it will continue as a sponsor for SUBARU TECNICA INTERNATIONAL, INC.'s (STI) participation in the Nürburgring 24-hour Race for the second year in a row.
STI, the motor sports division of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd., will compete in the 38th ADAC Zurich 24-hour Race (the Nürburgring 24-hour Race) from May 12 (Wed) to May 16 (Sun) in Germany. Competing for fans of Subaru around the world, STI will race a specially-tuned Subaru Impreza WRX STI.
In the 2009 race, the STI team took fifth place in the SP3T Class (sub-2.0L with turbocharger), completing 133 circuits (approximately 3,375 km) in 24 hours. Although this year's race is expected to be closely fought, the Impreza, which will compete in the same class as last year, has been improved in countless areas and the team is aiming squarely for victory in the class.
The team will once again be headed this year by Hideharu Tatsumi, STI's General Manager of Vehicle Experiment Department. The drivers include Kazuo Shimizu (Japan), a Nürburgring veteran; Toshihiro Yoshida (Japan), who makes his fourth appearance in the race this year; Carlo van Dam (Netherlands), who ably demonstrated the agility of the Impreza GT300 at the 2008 Super GT; and a German driver (to be announced shortly). Together, the four global drivers will throw down the gauntlet.
Orient Watch will equip each team crew member with a limited-edition ORIENT x STI collaboration wristwatch. Sporting a movement with a history dating back 60 years, this timepiece has been finely tuned for the demanding conditions of the race, embodying the values our customers expect – accuracy, durability and ease of use.

Hi,
I would like it as a present. I would not buy it for myself.
Probably going to clock in at just under a grand for interests sake.
Cheers,
Nik
