Can you pull the plug leads to find the miss? Vacuum leak pehaps?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Did it again today without getting zapped to many times, seems all cylinders are working, but what i thought was a noisy power steering belt, the sound appear to be comming from the gearbox, so im assuming its the DMF, its made a couple funny noises under load before but i never worried about it. So the way im seeing it is if the DMF is broken or faulty or whatever it could be causing the roughness of the engine as it may be out of balance or something. Either way i'll see about warrenty, and see what happens

I changed the clutch and flywheel with a gen1 spare I had, that now is much better. After paying more attention to the engine problems (engine seems lumpy) it appears to have a miss, so new plugs and leads, still no bingo, took it to a local mechanic who specializes in subaru's, (Cardiff automotive) he did a compression test which was fine, swapped my coilpack over, swapped idle sensor, and some other sensor, still no bingo, he beleived my fuel injectors needed cleaning, which I got done today. And no bingo. What's confusing me is I'm not getting an cel codes with I connect the wires. It appears clear. Before I bend over for Subaru would anyone have any ideas?

If your not getting any codes then perhaps start looking at mechanical faults or output devices. Have you put it on a gas analyer (you have one in your back pocket?? :D ) to see if it's lean or rich? Valve clearance? Too tight and the hydrocarbon (HC) output will be high. Vaccum leak? Try spraying carby cleaner around the suspected area and if leaking, you will notice a sharp rise in idle speed.

You shouldnt be getting zapped. Leads are probably rooted.

Leads were and are fine, I just had my hands too close to the coilpack. Pulled my timming belt covers off to discover a bolt has gone through tearing up my belt, the timming on one side is wrong... Pics soon

No idea!! I can't see where the bolt is from, looking at it I'm fairly lucky it didn't snap my belt.
