Its a very noticeable noise Shane. You'd know if you had it. Its more like a 'click click' sort of sound when turning the wheel round corners etc.come and drive myn and see if it is there shiv
I think what Lance describe sounds about right - worn clockspring. Bit odd to have happen on a car with <130xxx kms, but at least something like this is fixable.

In this country, you gotta make the money first.
Then when you get the money, you get the power.
Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

Hi guys,
I've test drove a few Gen3's now and I've noticed something odd about the ones equipped with the Momo steering wheel. Theres a sort of rattle as you turn the wheel (at speed) almost as if someones wrapped a chain or neckless around the wheel. Its a weird noise and not one that sounds normal. Its not a mechanical noise or feel (like worn bushes) and it has me and the car dealers scratching their heads. Theres nothing visible that can be causing the sound.
Anyone know what this is?? Its happened on two cars so far
It's the nut behind the wheel!
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Thats separate. I do the CV joint test on every car I test drive.sounds like CV joints if it makes clicking noise while driving and turning corners
Regards
Paul
The noise I'm talking about comes specifically from the steering wheel itself. What Lance describes sounds like the most likely cause, but am yet to confirm. And no Jase, its not the nut behind the wheel, haha
And since I posting this thread - I've heard this noise on another car. Its definitely a common problem. Hhmmm, these Gen3's....
Thanks for the feedback guys

Cheers,
Shazza
I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts, right off.
