Im wanting to make some sort of phone/music player holder and have some ideas floating around but I would like to see what you guys use, if any.

I use my ipod every time Im in the car and currently I have a holder that clips onto the AC vent.
Can just see it in this pic...

Its been handy as it has a gap in the bottom so the pod can be charged too. But I lose that vent altogether, and if I have the heat on the pod get really hot and visa versa with the cold.

Looking for something closer to hand reach too I guess - closer to the gear knob.

Post some pics, show me what you got :)

Note: After my current phone contract runs out Ill be getting an iphone so need something that will adapt to that too.

Maybe modify your cup holder?

Rip apart a cheap dock and put it in the pocket near the Cig Lighter?

I'm wiring my car to have the plug in the console box, and control the iPod through the stereo.

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P

thats the go! (if you can control from the head unit)
ive installed mine in the centre console with a small hole in the bottom and i plug the ipod in and forget about it,also keeps it away from prying eyes ;)

But I still need to take it out - its an ipod touch and i dont leave it in the car permanently.
I might do when i get an iphone but thats still 10ish months away when my current plan finishes.

Depending on how user friendly the Pioneer P3250 interface is i might still use the ipod to navigate through my music...

in my Liberty i've got a pioneer headunit (no idea which model) and have the ipod cable come through the back of the glove box to plug my ipod into. It keeps it nice and discreet and out of the way. All the controls are directly through the head unit and are very easy and efficient to use. It's probably 4 years old now and it's never caused me any problems. I'm just going to get the latest version of this unit for the Legacy as i reckon it's a really great system
