The money you spend on changing internals and such to make a stronger build on the B4 tt you could spend less and just transplant a single T EJ20 or even 2.5 from a rex and be running a much more reliable and easier to work on engine.
just my 2c but im sure there are others here that have the same thoughts.
compare the price of a low k rex 2.5 block vs stripping yours and rebuilding with stronger internals... and then compare power figures.

why??? i was advised by subaru australia that the ej207 was stronger.I wish to hell I had gone the 2.5L route
ej207 sti short block from subaru is the go around 3kwould it be worth getting stronger internals if im going to start working on the preformance of my car or not really worth it? and would they help to prevent the engine dying?

Prob right Shane - for 3K and a lot less mucking around the STi short block is a good way to go.
It cost me a bit as it was to bore and forge my block and I don't pay labour or retail price.

The advantage I'll have going 207 over 257 is that the ezyflash I have will work with any 01-05 2.0T so that's one less thing to worry bout.
There's my 2c

STi 2.0l #10103AB470
STi 2.5l #10107AB750
Can also get the STi 2.5l short blocks with a Nitrided Crank (Google what it is) #10103AB910 for the same price too.
2002 Outback - it's gone...

ej207 sti short block from subaru is the go around 3k
only pistons are stronger from the factory. blocks are both semi closed deck.
i have a semi closed deck (STi/WRX) EJ255 for sale. blown headgasket. Bores look sweet as. $900.

John- it depends on how crazy you want to get. Like others have said, I wouldn't go spending money on internals unless you want 200kw atw ++ reliably. The thing that goes with the TT engine is the big end rod bearings. Seems to be weak point in the chain. If you can keep pinging to an absolute minimum or even better to be non-existent, then there are quite a few examples of TT engines that make up to 190kw atw happily for many km's.
If you want to keep your car as a daily for around town, then I would recommend keeping the Twins. If you want a B4 for some track days here and there then its likely to go bang unless you 207 or similar in it.
