B4 Boost Question (Differnt to Mosti's)

Recently put a boost gauge in my B4.
And when trying to see how high it will go, i put it in 4th and plant the foot, when the boost reaches 1Bar (right on the gauge) i hear a whistling kinda noise that sounds like air rushing out from somewhere
Only thing that i can think of that it sounds like is the BOV, but its not a quick noise, if you keep the throttle open, itll keep going, till you backoff and then the BOV "sneezes" as per normal
Any thoughts?
I can get it to happen fairly regularly, but only in 4th, no other gears seem to hit 1Bar

I had a similar thing happen once, turned out I hadn't done one of the IC-man clamps tight enough.

Do you have a Pod filter?
It just might be the induction noise and the "BOV sneeze" might be turbo flutter when you're in vacuum before it hits boost.
This happens a lot if you are in a higher gear and at low revs and you step on it and then take your foot off the pedal.

You may only hear it in 4th because engine noise is usually lower.

Is the drivers side window done up?
But seriously, it could be the BOV - is it an adjustable one? (to vent external or recirc) From memory on mine (GFB) I can adjust the spring rate as well...
Checked?
Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Its seems to only happen in 4th and 5th, but i think it happened yesterday when i really punched it in 3rd...
Happens as it hits 1Bar, comes on suddenly....
- It is more hear-able with the windows up
- Its an adjustable BOV (GFB GT Hybrid - Currently full Vent)
I cant see any obvious hoses off anywhere.. I just cant remember for sure or not, whether it was happening before i got the exhaust done .... (Now Twin 2.5" into 3")
Weird tho, in 4th, when it happens, the speedo will go up, the boost and RPM wont move until you back off
Any further ideas, things to look for?

The car is accelerating, but the boost gauge will stay on 1Bar, and the Tacho will stay at 3K RPM (example in 4th gear)
How would a Defi gauge make that much noise? When its fully electronic?

Also, it's impossible for your speed to be increasing without revs increasing.
Downhill?
