Hey guys
Im thinking about changing the manual operated windows in my gen1 to electric ones.
Just wondering if the loom is the same throughout the whole range (as in both cars with electric windows and manual windows have the same loom) or whether you need to wire them in???
Any help would be good
Cheers :)

Sell your LX.

Buy GX.

Easier, and cheaper than installing electric windows yourself.

Loom is not present.

It is a dirty slag of a ho of a job to retrofit fast glass.

If your car is clean and straight enough, you could sell it on to someone who's keen on turning it into a track weapon, as the manual window winders are more desirable, as they're lighter.

I agree.

You are on your L's right?

and already you want to change everything on your car, gearbox, windows etc.

You should have saved up a couple more bucks in the first place and got yourself a decent model. ;)

Yeah well ive got a LX but also have a damaged GX so i was just going to swap all the interior over.
Thats if it wasnt too much trouble but it sounds like too much work so i might just scrap the idea :(

Just do it anyway. Gives you something to keep you busy on the weekend.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

you will have to change the loom and this will require removing the door so you can feed new cable through plugs on body and door... i did this when installing the remote central locking...

i will never remove the door from a car again!!!

i will rather sell my car and buy a new one then do that ever again. :dash2:

seriously it will be a good week of work for you to swap all that out if not more!

i want to shoot you now for reminding me of that horror of a job.
but i guess if your on your L's you have plenty of time after school, and it will keep you off the street doing stupid shit like I did in my teenage years

It's his first car, let him do what he wants.

Its not really the point.
Spending a fortune modifying cars doesn't really scream logic, but we all still do it.
