just to expand

1st letter determines model type:
G = Impreza
B = Legacy
S = Forester

2nd letter determines body type:
C = Sedan 1st gen.
D = Sedan 2nd gen.
E = Sedan 3rd gen.
L = Sedan 4th gen.
F = Wagon 1st gen.
G = Wagon 2nd gen.
H = Wagon 3rd gen.
P = Wagon 4th gen.

http://cgi.ebay.com....=item230bd349b6
please dont do this lol^^

it will not bolt up if thats what you mean?

front radiator support and everything will need to be cut and welded on, and thats just to fit the lights grill and bonnet, then trying to fit gen3 quaterpanels and frontbar would be difficult too

then if you actually get it too work, and ever want to sell you will have as much trouble as the bloke above with the gen2/4

no not thinking of doing that.
the reason i am asking is that when ordering new swaybar to chassis mount bushes from whiteline for my 97 liberty with a 22mm front sway bar they show these

http://www.whiteline...number=W0404-22
which wont fit.what i need are these

http://www.whiteline...number=W0405-22

but they are listed for a liberty be/bh 98-02???

Don't get hung up on classifications.

Previous owner of your car may have changed them to a different sort. And there's also discrepancies between models from the factory at Subaru, and the factory at Whiteline.

Just buy the right looking bushes for your car and be done with it.

thats why it made me think thats all.
