Hey I am putting a new exhaust on my mates car. Just a quick one. Whats the go with the cable going to the muffler? I assume its an exhaust valve. How do I disconnect it (not even looked at yet) and will it pull a code?

Just unhook it at the butterfly flap (hooks on like a accel cable), it won't throw any code. I just fed mine into a hole in the chassis rail (I have pic somewhere) or you can pull it up and leave it in the boot lining.

*edit* here's the pic:

Opens a valve in the stock exhaust system when the big mother-fucken turbo kicks in for more flow.

They have similar systems on new BMW's and the Vette ZR1. The B4 was ahead of its time. ;)

I know. B4's where definitely not the first.

The Ford model T probably had one. But still cool.

Surprised there isn't a leaver in the cabin to open it :D.

No.

Unless it throws a CEL code. Then I would leave it plugged in.
